The ACT Akademie GmbH relates the neurophysiological and neurobiological basics of the “new medicine of emotions” as a surrogate of the current brain research to the practical world of the company and of the individual.

There are two characteristic types of fluctuations in heart rate that can be depicted by measuring pulse waves and analysing the results with the help of special computer software: Chaos and Coherence.

Feelings such as well-being, thankfulness, compassion or happiness lead to regular pulse variations. That means that the shift between acceleration and deceleration of the heart rate runs along steadily. This state is called coherence. When it comes to stress, anxiety, depression or anger, however, pulse variations become irregular or chaotic.

Heart coherence training on a daily basis leads to an increase in heart rate variability as well as to a positive influence on physiology. According to scientific researches, heart coherence has a direct effect on the performance and function of the brain. This is shown through e.g. faster reactions and increased performance under stress.

Coherence training on a regular basis leads to peace of mind, vigour and calm. Coherence can be applied to every situation in day-to-day life. It can control anxiety and depression in the long run as well as lowering blood pressure and stimulating the immune system.

Besides introducing most recent findings from neuroscience and brain research, heart coherence trainings and coaching sessions present different exercises on heart coherence as well as information on how to use biofeedback devices.
