A small portable ECG is used to perform an HRV long term analysis.
This mobile ECG device weighs only a few grams and is smaller than a business card. It is connected to the chest with two adhesive electrodes. The device measures your heart rate variability for over 24 hours – entirely unobtrusively and without any pain or complications – while you go on living your everyday life. You just have to note down your activities during the day in a protocol, from sports to work, breaks, eating and sleeping.
During this time the device records every single heartbeat and measures exactly the minimally irregular time spans in between the individual beats. A human heart beats around 100.000 times in 24 hours. This means that there is an enormous amount of data that is evaluated by our specific software. The results of the measurements will then be illustrated in a flame-like diagram.
This diagram and a respective analysis help to depict the many complex processes of the autonomic nervous system in the human body and make you understand your emotions and your physical and mental state better.
